Mission

The mission of the A.S Engineering Technology Substation program is to deliver students innovative and applied education that prepares students to become highly skilled engineering technologists in the electric utility industry and industrial power facilities.

Student Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of the A.S. Engineering Technology Substation program requirements, graduates will be able to:

  • Apply knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering technology, and computing to identify, analyze, and solve problems pertaining to the design, development, and implementation of electronic systems.
  • Proficient in electric utility transformers, breakers, switches, generating plants, substations, power lines, and various utility infrastructure and operational protocols.
  • Discuss Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) laws and regulations
  • Be eligible for a National Certification for the Manufacturing Skill Standards Council Certification
